Everest Trek – Day 18 Acclimatisation day in Machermo

Didn’t do a great deal, other then reading and eating, but did manage to climb the ridge behind the village to a string of prayer flags.

  1. I am 61 and plan to do a lot of self- trekking in nepal in a few years. I see you are doing a lot of self-trekking.
Please tell me how heavy is your backpack when you go on tea house trekking? tell me the maximum that you are comfortable to carry.
This info is very important to me as I don’t have any trekking experience and don’t want to learn it the hard way.
    Thanks a lot.

    • I try to keep my pack weight to under 10 kg but can carry 25 if I have to. Most people are comfortable with carrying around the 15 kilogram mark.
