The chaos was as per normal with tour guides and aggressive trekkers (me) fighting at the check in counter then having a good laugh about it afterwards. The planes came in on time and after a hectic thirty minutes of planes landing and taking off everybody was on their way to Kathmandu. The flight itself was uneventful with good views over all the hills that I had spend weeks walking over and at nine o’clock I was back in the Kathmandu Garden House.
Good to be back.
Hi there,
I’m in the process of outlining my trip to Nepal in May 2018. I would like to do a 12-day max trek (or two short ones). I’m considering doing part of the EBC trek (round trip from Lukla to Tengboche). I’m having difficulty estimating the airfare from Kathmandu to Lukla. Any insight?
Thanks

Hi Justina,
Current fare to Lukla is USD166 one way. You could, however, walk in or walk out via Phaplu. It adds three days each way to your trekking and a day on the bus to your trek but would be cheaper than flying.
