Chomrong to Landruk

New Bridge

Decided I’d rather be warm. So I’m heading down the mountain back to Pokhara. The problem is that this, of course, means a few days hiking and there are a number of ways to get there and indecisive as I am this means that I don’t make up my mind until I get to the point where the trail splits between the uphill one that goes to Ghandrung and the downhill one to New Bridge. Easy decision then. New Bridge is always named in English even on Nepali maps to distinguish it from nearby Nayapul which you guessed it, means New Bridge in Nepali. I cross the town’s namesake bridge and the trail follows the river for a while only when you’re almost there does it goes up for the 200 meter climb to Landruk. It’s been a six hour hike more than enough for one day.
