Wandering through Auckland

Blog 2

I’m in Auckland for the next few weeks to help look after Daniel my severely autistic young charge. Dan is a happy lad but he has no functional speech and makes up for it by making random noises at a very high volume.  This can be somewhat challenging especcially when he wakes up at four in the morning. That our routine is one of long drives and short walks through Auckland, the city of sails!

Luckily the weather has been good. Cool but sunny and there is always plenty to see. This weekend has taken us along the East Coast Bays and across the harbour to downtown Auckland where we watched the boats both big and small and indulged in an ice cream or two. I’ll need to do a lot of walking before I’ve lost all the weight I’ve gained this weekend.
