After playing around with all sorts of grand plans, writing itineraries and discarding them I’ve decide Nepal is still the place for me and in a few months I will be making the long trip back to Kathmandu again. On the way over I shall take a few days break in Bangkok to have some authentic Thai food and a few beers but then it’s the Himalaya for the next three months. My main aim this time round is to trek from Besi Sahar to Beni in a trip I’ve grandly named the Annapurna Alternative. It stitches part of the Sikles trek together with the Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp treks before coming down Mohare Danda to Beni and bussing it back to Pokhara. Another walk I like to make is Tumlingtar to Makalu Base Camp and back out to Jiri or vice versa and finally if I feel like yet more walking the round Kanchenjunga trek. As with all my plans this is open to change one of the true joys of being a solo wanderer.
